Memorial Private School is accredited by SACS, the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools.
First - About Summer School - Summer School courses are wrapping up! Registration is already underway for Fall Satellite and Night courses. Get the form signed by your counselor and bring it on in with your course selection(s) and your check for your reservation.
Students take night/satellite courses typically when they could not take Summer School - you can get a course or two out of the way by taking them at your own pace during the school year. We teach you the material throughout the year, and the hours are set on an appointment basis. You may set this weekly according to your availability, or set standard times such as once per week, every Tuesday for example.

ABOUT MEMORIAL PRIVATE HIGH SCHOOL
MPHS accepts students in 7th - 12th Grades, and is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools. As such courses transfer to other accredited schools and universities.
Acceptance criteria is highly selective and custom for each family, especially given that the school is designed to retain its small, family atmosphere and warm environment.
This is also a Texas Tech ISD Specialty School, providing each student who takes TTU courses full personalized instruction and full handling of all TTU administation and correspondence.
MPHS prepares each student with high quality, strong academics to achieve his or her best, for college and beyond. The school is in a stand-alone school building on a cul-de-sac, surrounded by SBISD schools, and overlooking a neighborhood park.
Key differentiating factors are:
- Small teacher - student ratio of about 1 to 8 or less
- Experienced, highly nurturing staff
- Teachers degreed in their main subject area
- Strong academics and college prep
- Offers summer and night school
- Affordable prices
- Flexible schedules; year-round;
- Custom teaching for each child
- Best of academics, in a "standard" classroom setting, but combined with one-to-one teaching, and a warm environment that truly fosters and focuses on social and self-responsibility
MPHS Student Profile
The School is designed for students that would do well in a school that:
- has a small teacher-student ratio
- manages the flexibility required for effective private education
- emphasizes the importance of faith
- can offer an economically viable choice
- strives to teach self-responsibility and self-initiative
- accepts students who excel and want to accelerate their high school program
- accepts students who have learning differences and need more custom-oriented instruction
We are not equipped to accept students who have significant behavioral problems, or substantial academic problems that would put the student considerably below "expected grade level" in more than one or two subject areas.
We also are not equipped to accept students who are having any kind of substance abuse, drug or alcohol issues. Much of our acceptance criteria is based on the interview with the student and family, with previous academic records, and with psychological evaluations if applicable or deemed necessary.
Most of our students are average to above average in intelligence, and some are gifted academically and/or in athletics or the arts. Most of the students are here because they do not make use of or need the larger environment in the public school setting, or simply wanted a different moral environment, or smaller, warmer atmostphere. Home-schoolers also thrive here.
Curriculum
MPHS is accredited by SACS (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools). All courses are accredited and transferable. Memorial Private School follows the Texas Education Agency's essential elements and recommended course requirements for a high school diploma. Full-time, experienced teachers provide instruction and custom, small group teaching in a classroom setting. High quality curriculum and high expectations for student work is our focus. Tutoring for Credit-by-Exam is also available. Memorial Private High School is also a Specialty School with Texas Tech and is authorized to proctor exams for all subjects through TTU as well.
Parent Directed Education
We support the home school community! As you get into the more advanced material at the secondary level, it is sometimes effective for the student to have additional teachers who excel in each subject, and who have a passion for their subject matter. If a family would like to continue home-schooling, but not at home, we refer to this as Parent-Directed-Education. With your guidance, we will assist you in educating your children.
Course Offerings
All core subjects and electives are offered, including Yoga and Tae Kwon Do. The School operates with seven standard class periods, plus a lunch period and can also accommodate flexible schedules.
Curriculum emphasis is on college prep skills. MPHS curriculum allows the student to see all the upcoming assignments, in full detail, and provides the student a clear and concise way to move ahead in his or her work. Personalized graduation plans are outlined for each student.
Guarantee - No Pass, No Pay
We believe that if we cannot help a student succeed, we should not enroll that student. However, if your child has difficulties that we cannot overcome together, and your child has not broken school policies, we will gladly refund your most recent, full month's tuition.
The teaching and administrative experience of the school's founder and director, Harry Camp, has been focused on students at the secondary level, and particularly those families that seek private education. Because of his length of experience in this area, and our total dedication to the success of each student, this guarantee backing our commitment is one of the things that differentiates this school from others.
Come see us anytime! It is not that hard to make a change of schools, and it may change your whole family's life for the better. You do have a choice. Memorial Private School may be right for you.
